Terms & Conditions

 

Bad Weather Policy

  • Star Tennis and your tennis coach reserve the right to cancel or postpone the tennis lesson during bad weather conditions, for safety reasons.

  • If bad weather looks imminent 1 hour prior to your class, you may liaise with your coach to discuss. If it is agreed between you and your coach that the weather will not hold, you can cancel and reschedule the class. There will be no lesson fee charge, but court fees may still be chargeable if ActiveSG does not process a refund to us.

  • If the rain has stopped before lesson time but the tennis court is wet, the coach and students will utilise lesson time to dry the courts until it is deemed safe by the coach, before using the remaining lesson time to conduct the lesson.

  • For Private Lessons: If the class has commenced and has to be called off due to weather, the chargeable duration of the lesson will be counted by rounding up to the hour mark (eg. 10 minutes -> 1 hour, 50 minutes -> 1 hour, 90 minutes -> 2 hours).

  • For Join-a-Group Lessons: If the class has commenced and has to be called off due to weather, the chargeable duration will be the full lesson duration.

  • The coach and Star Tennis will make the decision whether to pause, resume, or cancel the lesson during wet weather conditions. \

  • The lesson time will be counted until Star Tennis has made the decision to cancel the lesson, and when everyone (student and coach) has exited the tennis court and reached the shelter. If the student wishes to wait to see if the weather clears up, the waiting time will be included in the count as well.

 

Attendance and Makeup Policy

  • For Private classes, you are required to inform your tennis coach and the Star Admin at least 48 hours before the lesson should you wish to postpone your lesson. However, you will have to forfeit the court fee and booking fee, if any, regardless of the cancellation reason.

  • Rescheduling or cancellations less than 48 hours will be charged 100% of the lesson fee + court fee + booking fee, regardless of cancellation reason.

  • For cancellations of lessons held at public courts, you will still have to make the necessary reimbursements as stated above, even if we repurpose the court for other students' lessons. You are not guaranteed entitlement of the court usage for your own casual play, but may be offered to by Star Tennis as an act of goodwill on a case-by-case basis (the same time slot for casual play is not guaranteed as well).

  • Medical certificates will be accepted without charge if provided at least 3 hours before the lesson. This cancellation will still count towards the maximum cancellations tally as stated in the next point.

  • The cancellation made by the client is only permitted up to a maximum of once in each 4 session package, or twice in each 12 session package if at least 48 hours prior notice is provided. Any additional cancellations, regardless of the duration of prior notice, will be chargeable 100%, regardless of cancellation reason.

  • For Join A Group! classes, there will be no compensation or make-up lessons regardless of the reason. A replacement may be sent in your place if you are unable to come due to medical reasons or emergencies.

  • Lost time due to the student’s tardiness will not be compensated or replaced.

Private Lessons Package Expiration Dates

  • You are expected to commit to consecutive weekly private lessons upon commencement

  • We understand that you may have occasional plans that render you unavailable to attend a session, thus for a 4-session package we permit free cancellation of ONE session as long as 48 hours' notice is provided, and for a 12-session package we permit free cancellation of TWO sessions as long as 48 hours' notice is provided

  • At maximum, a 4-session package expires within 6 weeks of the first lesson date, and a 12-sessions package expires within 16 weeks of the first lesson date

  • Any no-shows or late cancellations will be fully charged

  • If clients are in charge of making court bookings, failure to secure courts will be considered as lesson cancellations and are subjected to the above-stated cancellation policies

Payment

  • Coaching fees are to be paid in packages of 4 or 12 sessions, each session being 1 hour in duration. Coaching fees are to be paid in full within 24 hours after Star Tennis contacts you to firm up the details with regards to the scheduling of lessons. Upon registration, Star Tennis will reserve your slot for 3 days. Upon which coaching fees are to be paid in full via Internet bank transfer, PayNow, SWIFT transfers, or STRIPE Credit Card payments.

 

Join A Group! Lessons Package Expiration Dates

  • You are expected to commit to consecutive weekly JAG sessions upon commencement

  • We understand that you may have occasional plans that render you unavailable to attend a session, thus for a 4-session package we permit free cancellation of ONE session as long as 48 hours' notice is provided, and for a 12-session package we permit free cancellation of TWO sessions as long as 48 hours' notice is provided

  • Medical certificates will be accepted without charge if provided at least 3 hours before the lesson. For such cases, cancellations of your slot is not allowed, but instead a replacement can be sent to take your place for that particular lesson.

  • At maximum, an 4-session JAG package expires within 6 weeks of the first lesson date, and a 12-session JAG package expires within 16 weeks of the first lesson date

  • Any no-shows or late cancellations will be fully charged with no replacement allowed (except for valid Medical Certificate cases)

 

Entrance & Usage of Tennis Courts

Private Condo/Club Courts

  • Students are required to pay for any deposit, entrance, or parking fees (if applicable) for the tennis coach.

  • Different condo or club managements may have their own set of policies for tennis lessons conducted at their premises, students are to check with the condo or club management before their private tennis coach arrives to conduct lessons at their condo or club tennis courts.

 

Cancellation, Postponement & Change of Coach

  • In the event of unforeseen circumstances, Star Tennis reserves the right to cancel, postpone or change a tennis coach for your tennis lesson.

Refunds

  • No refunds will be made after payment is completed, unless under extraordinary circumstances as per the Star Tennis team's discretion

  • If a refund is made, a $50 processing fee will be charged

 

Limitation of Liability, Health Declaration and Indemnity Agreement​

  • Upon attending any of our lessons, you understand and voluntarily accept the following:

    • ​It is your responsibility to consult a medical practitioner regarding your ability to participate in the classes and training sessions held by Star Tennis;

    • Participating in Star Tennis lessons may involve physical activity more demanding than running or other racket sports;

    • It is your responsibility to immediately inform the Class Instructor of your inability to continue with any activity if you are unwell or for any other reason.

    • Participating in Star Tennis lessons including the use of court facilities that Star Tennis rents from external parties to hold our lessons. During which, this carries with it the risks of injury which may be serious, but not liable and not within the jurisdiction of Star Tennis;

    • Star Tennis is not a fitness equipment or machinery manufacturer or tennis court provider, and undertakes no liability and gives no guarantee or warranty in relation to the fitness for purpose, or quality of its fitness equipment and tennis court condition, whether express or implied, statutory or otherwise;

    • Star Tennis reserves the right to refuse any individual entry for its tennis lessons at its absolute discretion.

    • You declare that:

      • ​You are not pregnant (if applicable), under medication or suffer from any medical disability or medical condition such that your participation in Star Tennis lessons may pose a risk to your health;

      • You are not suffering from any infections or contagious illness, disease or other medical conditions including but not limited to open cuts, abrasions, infections and/or open sores which may be detrimental to the health, safety, comfort or physical condition of other participants or persons present at Star Tennis. When in doubt, you will bring any such matter to the attention of the Class Instructor prior to participating in any of the tennis lessons;

      • You agree that, to the fullest extent permitted by law, Star Tennis shall not be liable whether in contract or tort or otherwise howsoever for any injury, illness or death, or loss or damage to your person or property and that of your guests during activity conducted by Star Tennis however caused including any that may arise directly or indirectly from your participation in the tennis lessons (including, without limitation, economic loss, loss of goodwill or reputation).

      • You agree to fully indemnify, defend and hold harmless Star Tennis from and against any and all liability from any loss, damages, claims, suits, costs (including legal costs and disbursements) and expenses of whatever nature, howsoever incurred, which Star Tennis may at any time sustain, incur or suffer relating to, in connection with or arising out of your failure or negligence to perform or comply with the terms herein.

      • Star Tennis may use recording equipment during and around its tennis lessons to monitor, record and/or retain visual and audio footage of occurrences at its tennis lessons including your participation in the tennis lessons. In the course of doing so, Star Tennis may collect personal data such as photographs, audio recordings or video images of yourself. You consent to the collection, use, processing and disclosure of my personal data by Star Tennis for reasonable purposes such as security and marketing.

  • Star Tennis will not be held responsible for any claims arising out of any injury, damage, or loss of life while attending this course and this includes all costs and expenses incurred as a result of such claims.

  • You are deemed to have accepted all the aforementioned statements under the Limitation of Liability, Health Declaration and Indemnity Agreement upon your arrival to any of our lessons

 

Changes to this Terms & Conditions/Privacy Policy

Star Tennis has the discretion to update these Terms & Conditions/ Privacy Policy at any time. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review our terms & conditions periodically and become aware of modifications.

Star Tennis will not misuse/sell our student’s private information. But by filling up this our registration form you agree to receive communication from us and we’ll send you the latest updates and new services to improve your experience and learning with our academy

 

Acceptance of Terms & Conditions

By using this Site, you signify your acceptance of this policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our Site. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.
